Manchester City cruise to Wembley with 9-0 win over West Ham

Manchester City cruised into the Capital One Cup final with a 3-0 second leg success over West Ham to complete a 9-0 aggregate victory.

Alvaro Negredo struck twice and Sergio Aguero was also on target for Manuel Pellegrini's men as they set up a Wembley meeting with either Manchester United or Sunderland on March 2.


The Hammers made the worst possible start as more shambolic defending allowed Gael Clichy to advance unchecked, he fed Marcos Lopes on the left and the youngster's cross was converted by an unmarked Negredo from just eight yards.

Allardyce will also be concerned by the fact that Mohamed Diame and Joe Cole suffered injuries, with the former stretchered off in the closing moments.
